Southampton University Framework - success

Having been shortlisted earlier in the year,  we have been selected by Southampton University onto their 4 year Framework as Architects, Interior Designers and Master Planners.

Our Director, Jonathan Yates stated, “We are thrilled with this appointment. Having collaborated within Higher Education for many years, this further expands our position and we look forward to supporting Southampton University deliver their ambitious programme of projects.”

Engineering Day at Bede Academy

HLP were invited again this year to participate in the Engineering Day at Bede Academy.

This year we worked with Year 9 students to produce scaled models for a chill out zone in their existing courtyard! The results were creative, fun and explored the basic principles of design, architecture and construction. A good day for both the students and HLP!


NetPark Sedgefield

HLP have been appointed by the Centre for Process Innovation as lead consultant on the design and construction of a £9m, 4,500sqm two-storey facility at Sedgefield’s NETPark.

The design consortium appointment follows on the back of contract wins for rapidly expanding car dealer Vertu Motors, which appointed us to remodel its new head office on the Team Valley Trading Estate, as well as new office space for the Esh Group in Durham.

The new building will comprise of specialist leading edge incubation laboratory space and product formulation capability, as well as office accommodation space.

Acklam Hall - work continues

Acklam Hall - fireplace

Restoration work at Acklam Hall continues. Most of the fireplaces in the Hall are of timber, but this fireplace, in the grand ‘Hustler Salon’, is revealed as stone.

Conservators are carefully removing 200 years’ worth of paint to reveal this 17th century detail.
